On Saturday, February 28, at 7 p.m., the 10th Annual Step Competition and Cultural Celebration will be held in Springbank Auditorium at West Potomac High School in Alexandria. Competing step teams will show their creativity and talent by presenting a routine that incorporates the theme: STOMP OUT UNDERAGE DRINKING.
Step shows are extremely popular but adding a theme such as underage drinking brings public awareness to the drug of choice used by today’s youth ages 11 to 20. Helping us celebrate 10 years of stepping by the Moo Psi Steppers will be Georgetown University’s step team; Hampton University’s Omega Psi Phi, Gamma Epsilom Chapter; and local churches and community organizations. Tickets are $10.00 with discounted group sales available.
For more information contact Burnette Scarboro at 703-277-2661. This event is sponsored by South County Youth Network, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization and one of the nineteen Fairfax County Public School (FCPS) school-community coalitions.
